Clinical Informatics Support Specialist

Job Summary and Responsibilities

This role will have a hybrid schedule and will require ON-SITE support at Longmont United Hospital and St. Elizabeth Hospital in Colorado. Applicants must reside in the local area.

The Clinical Informatics Support Specialist (CISS) supports, communicates, and organizes implementations, optimization, system upgrades, new-user education, troubleshooting and general needs of end users within a care setting. Functions as a subject matter expert and liaison; develops and maintains relationships with end users to ensure efficient use of clinical and business systems. Assist in evaluation and development of current and future state workflows. Works collaboratively to optimize training, curriculum, and outcomes.

What you'll do:

Supports and optimizes clinical information system capabilities to meet the organization's goals of quality patient care, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.Participates in workflow design and development; project implementation; documentation; and end user training. Understands and utilizes evidence-based practice in initial and ongoing EHR training and competency to end usersContributes to training curricula, communication and change management for technology changes, upgrades, and downtimes to customersResponsible for problem solving, assessing processes and issues, and collaborating with other staff and physicians to develop solutions resulting in efficient and functional workflows for end users of our software applications. Participates in projects, meetings, and workshops. Gather information from end users as needed. Escalates appropriately.  Prioritizes responsibilities and organizes workload to ensure that work is successfully completed within deadlines.


Job Requirements

Education and Experience

Minimum: Associate's degree required

Bachelor's degree, preferred

2 years experience in a healthcare environment

Licensure and Certifications

None

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

Basic proficiency with PC software applications (e.g. Google Workspace)

Strong problem-solving skills with a creative and open-minded approach 

Ability to manage project tasks and timelines 

Strong communication skills with ability to facilitate groups toward consensus

Ability to organize priorities and tasks effectively

Proficiency in commonly used software programs

Ability to effectively train others and simplify complex topics
