Job Summary

\n

The Financial Analyst II is the key financial resource. Provides financial analysis to support the goals of Baylor Scott and White (BSWH).

\n

Essential Functions of the Role

\n\nProvides financial analysis support to administrators and department directors. Assists in the efficient and cost-effective operation of BSWH.\nPrepares the operating and capital budget(s) for assigned areas.\nPrepares the 5-year financial operating forecast to include statistics, payer mix, payments capital, etc.\nPrepares examination and presents and justifies findings, for any potential capital acquisitions, projects, new services, etc.\nProvides ongoing budget vs. actual revenue and expense variance analysis. Reviews both standard and custom reports developed for the entity.\nPrepares verbal or written results of examination of department operating efficiencies and presents/discusses them with management and others as required.\nDevelops and produces Management Reports as required/requested.\nPrepares operating pro-formas for new services, projects, or capital as needed. Understands financial operations and works with all levels of assigned areas, finance, and clinical management/personnel to ensure examination accuracy.\nProvides financial analysis and recommendations for lease vs. buy recommendation relating to new equipment.\nServes as liaison between the assigned area and Recommendation Support Services and other finance areas of BSWH.\nMaintains professional growth by joining educational programs and organizations. Stays updated on current trends, practices, and developments.\nConducts finance training for BSWH personnel as directed.\n\n

Key Success Factors

\n

\n\nBS in Accounting or Finance preferred\nProficiency with MS Office applications\nProven leadership, management, data and communication abilities required\nAbility to work both autonomously and in collaborative, team-based environments\nStrong follow-through and execution of day-to-day tasks and responsibilities\nPrior experience with Kaufman Hall/Axiom budgeting software\nPrior work experience in a healthcare setting, and familiarity with outpatient KPIs and financial metrics highly preferred\n\n
