The Department of Pediatrics Division of Primary Care Pediatrics, at the University of Virginia Children's Hospital, seeks candidates for a non-tenure eligible clinical faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, to join their growing team at UVA Pediatrics at Orange, to begin in April 2026. The position is ideal for a highly motivated candidate with strong interest in advancing his/her career through excellence in clinical practice, teaching, quality improvement, and advocacy. Rank and compensation are dependent upon qualifications. The position requires excellent clinical and teaching skills and experience necessary to precept residents and medical students.
UVA Pediatrics at Orange is located in the rural community of Orange, VA, 45 minutes from Charlottesville. There are currently 6 faculty members, a full-time social worker, part-time psychologist, nurse care coordinator and a dedicated nursing staff. Pediatrics at Orange achieved NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home Certification in 2019 and is the only UVA Pediatric practice with this distinction. There is a significant focus on pediatric education and training for pediatric residents, as well as 3 rd and 4 th year medical students. The ideal candidate will demonstrate commitment to the ideals of the PCMH model of care, which includes team-based care, care coordination, performance measurement and quality improvement. S/he will actively participate in maintenance of certification activities, including Quality Improvement projects (4-5 per year) and monthly PCMH meetings.
The Division of Primary Care Pediatrics is currently comprised of 24 full and part-time pediatricians. The Division has outstanding collaborative working relationships with other pediatric subspecialists, our surgical colleagues and our colleagues in adult medicine.
