Position Summary
Responsible for the nutritional care of hospitalized patients within all age groups in accordance with assigned units. Assists Clinical Nutrition Manager in the supervision of the Diet Technician, Diet Clerks, and Dietetic Students. Provide support to the Home Health Department.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Responsible for the nutritional care of hospitalized patients on assigned floors by completing daily assignments in accordance with department protocols and policies; assigns diet technician tasks for the day.
2. Provide nutritional screening, assessment, monitoring, follow-up and documentation on all hospitalized patients within all age groups within designated time frames in accordance with hospital and department protocols and policies.
3. Provide nutrition education including diet education and food drug interactions to hospitalized patients and families in accordance with hospital protocols and policies.
4. Provide nutritional interventions, downgrading of diets and recommendations and accurately document in EMR and Cbord.
5. Responsible for mentoring the Dietetic Interns and Students in accordance with ACEND standards and requirements stipulated by Students internship program or school.
6. Actively participates in hospital committees meetings and rounds as assigned by the Clinical Nutrition Mgr.
7. Complete special projects including active participation National Nutrition Month and department in-services and participates in department PI projects.
8. Maintain Dietitian Registration as stipulated by CDR.

â— Bachelor’s Degree in Food, Nutrition or related field

One year clinical experience in hospital setting

Registration by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, CDR or Registration eligible

Familiarity with computers, computerized charting, kitchen function and equipment, excellent communication and critical thinking skills
