Position Summary:

Assists the NICU & Pediatric Unit Director with responsibility and accountability for the management and coordination of the unit.  Emphasis on independent decision-making related to the nursing process.  Demonstrates the ability to provide consistent direction for all nursing personnel in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating nursing practices.  

Qualifications: 

A. Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Texas required. National Certification preferred. B. Required Certifications, Training and Experience: A current BLS certification through the American Heart Association. Current NRP Certification is required by the American Academy of Pediatrics upon hire. STABLE course within 6 months of hire.  A minimum of three (3) years' full-time experience as a NICU or Pediatric RN.  Obtain instructor certification in both STABLE and NRP within 9 months of hire. PALS instructor preferred. Demonstrate appropriate leadership skills within 3 months of hire or transfer.
