**Employment Type:** Part time **Shift:** Day Shift **Description:** Part Time Clinical Care Tech. This is a 0.3 FTE. Block schedule is every other Saturday and Sunday 0700-1930. **Position Purpose:** Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a RN and or LPN, primarily, in the Med-Surg area though may be directed to the Perioperative or ER setting when additional help is needed. Performs general nursing duties and able to work with the age specific populations according to the setting. **What You Will Do:** + Effectively communicates pertinent patient changes/conditions to co-workers and to multidisciplinary caregivers. + Maintains required department confidentiality and abides by HIPPA regulations. + Provides competent patient care to the above indicated patient populations by obtaining and appropriately interpreting data, making appropriate decisions based on demonstrated knowledge of age-specific growth and development, and appropriately adapting procedures and treatments. + Takes an active role in enhancing ability to carry out job functions through personal and professional/job-related growth and development and participates in medical center and/or departmental education programs. + Answers and directs phone calls appropriately. + Supports ER staff as needed (calling departments for test completion, running specimens, etc.) + Supports and abides by all medical center, departmental, and safety policies and procedures. Proactively identifies safety concerns surrounding the work environment. + Performs other responsibilities as requested by Clinical Leader/Charge Nurse/Chief Nursing Officer. **Hours/ Schedule** PART-TIME/0.3 Every other Saturday and Sunday **Minimum Qualifications:** Education: + Completion of geriatric aid certification and State of Iowa Nurse Aide registry listing as “Active” or eligible. **OR** + Currently enrolled in an A.D.N., B.S.N., program with successful completion of first semester of A.D.N. program, OR first year completion of nursing courses in BSN OR graduate of an A.D.N., Diploma, BSN or LPN program.
