Clinical Audiology Fellow - Vestibular Focused
Performs diagnostic audiological test procedures to evaluate patient's hearing/balance function and/or impact of bothersome tinnitus. Provides interpretation of results to patients and licensed medical provider (LMP). Provides counseling and education about hearing, balance and other related audiologic conditions. Engages family-centered approach when selecting, fitting and dispensing amplification or other sensory devices. Identifies any related disorders that may impact the patient's communication/balance function and abilities and makes appropriate recommendations for referrals to other specialists or agencies. Engages in mentorship and additional training opportunities to be an expert in a specific domain of audiology. **Responsibilities:** + Provides clinical diagnostic and management services for hearing, balance, and/or tinnitus disorders/impairment using family-centered care. + Provides services in designated clinical space, inpatient hospital space and/or operating room, as needed. + Documents and maintains accurate records for all services provided to patients. + Completes administrative tasks such as inventory, placing POs, ordering devices and supplies. + Ensures performance of daily and monthly equipment checks and biological calibrations. + Participates in mentored guided projects to become expert in a specific domain of audiology practice. + Other duties as assigned. **Education:** + Doctorate in Audiology (AuD). **Certifications:** + Must be eligible for an Ohio Speech and Hearing Professionals Board license to practice audiology upon hire. + Must hold Ohio Speech and Hearing Professionals Board license to practice audiology upon start date. + Must obtain Certificate of Clinical Competence Audiology (CCC-A) by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) within new hire period and maintain CCCs throughout employment. **Complexity of Work:** + Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. + Must be able to perform in a complex, and sometimes, stressful work environment. **Work Experience:** + No previous work experience may be required if recently graduated with the Doctor of Audiology degree or equivalent. **Physical Requirements:** + Must be able to assist patients with mobility problems. + Good hand dexterity to manipulate small objects associated with hearing aids, cochlear implants, etc. + Ability to push carts which carry audiology test equipment. **Personal Protective Equipment:** + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. **Pay Range** Minimum Annual Salary: $52,270.00 Maximum Annual Salary: $79,727.50 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
