Clinical Associate
Suburban Hospital
Role Overview
+ The Clinical Associate position is governed by Johns Hopkins University (JHU) policies and procedures.
+ Engagement begins upon successful completion of all credentialing and onboarding requirements.
+ The physician must maintain all necessary licensure, credentials, and approvals throughout the term of service.
+ The physician shall provide services in their medical specialty to JHU patients in a competent, full, and complete manner, consistent with the quality of care prevailing in current medical practice.
Preconditions to Service Start Date
The physician's service start date is contingent upon completion of the following requirements:
+ Satisfactory criminal background check
+ Satisfactory pre-employment health assessment
+ For non-U.S. citizens: verification of appropriate visa status for the full duration of the engagement
+ Completion of the federal I-9 form and confirmation of U.S. work authorization
+ Full credentialing, including:
+ Active and unrestricted medical licensure in both Maryland and the District of Columbia
+ Board certification in the physician's relevant medical specialty
+ Valid DEA registration and applicable state-specific controlled substance licenses (e.g., Maryland and DC)
+ Medical staff appointment with full clinical privileges at Suburban Hospital
+ Eligibility to participate in:
+ Medicare and Medicaid programs
+ Managed care arrangements affiliated with JHU and its partner institutions
Medical Services
The physician agrees to:
+ Provide medical services in alignment with clinical protocols, ethical standards, and all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
+ Exercise independent medical judgment consistent with professional standards and in the best interest of the patient.
+ Deliver care in a manner consistent with Johns Hopkins University clinical and administrative policies.
+ Render services in the physician's specialty in a competent, thorough, and professional manner, consistent with the prevailing standard of medical care.
Clinical Documentation and Compliance
The physician is responsible for:
+ Timely and accurate completion of medical records and any donor- or transplant-related documentation, as applicable.
+ Submission of all required billing forms, clinical notes, and service documentation in accordance with JHU and payer guidelines.
+ Maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and institutional policies related to documentation and medical recordkeeping.
+ Acknowledging that all patient records are the property of JHU:
+ The physician may access records only as allowed by law and JHU policy during the term of employment.
+ Post-employment access is not permitted unless authorized by a patient through a written record release request.
Location of Service
+ The primary service location shall be Suburban Hospital.
+ JHU reserves the right to modify the service location with prior written notice to the physician, in accordance with institutional needs.
Salary: $200K base with total comp estimated at $950K excluding sign on bonus
Job Type: Full Time
The listed salary range represents the minimum and maximum Johns Hopkins University offers for this position, based on a good faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as location, skills, experience, market conditions, education, and internal equity. Not all candidates will qualify for the highest salary in the range.
