**Job Summary**
The Physics Division of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Michigan Medicine is recruiting a medical physicist for a clinical physics faculty position.
We are searching for an academic clinical medical physicist who is interested in joining our team of over 20 faculty and staff physicists. The primary directive of this faculty role is to help bring up and then provide clinical coverage at a new center in Troy, Michigan. The center will initially have one CT simulator (Siemens) and one linear accelerator (Varian TrueBeam) with the potential for growth in the future. The proposed clinical effort for this role is 80% with 20% academic time although these percentages can vary depending on the chosen candidate. Clinical effort will include coverage at the Troy center as noted above as well as participation in our comprehensive clinical physics program at the main campus location in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Clinical effort also includes participation in our educational mission through teaching in our medical physics and radiation oncology residency programs. Academic time includes clinical research and program development that advances the department and division mission as well as academic teaching. An ideal candidate would also provide service to the department and university through committee and special project involvement.

**Responsibilities***
The selected applicant will be a contributor and leader within our team and participate in general clinical physics practice and provide didactic and practical teaching and training for multiple learners. A successful candidate will also participate in ongoing and/or new clinical development initiatives across our Physics Division. Current division development areas include, but are not limited to: online adaptive therapy, improving our ability to individualize radiation therapy towards improved patient outcomes, development of quantitative imaging approaches for treatment planning and response modeling; use of state of the art bioinformatics techniques to unify large and disparate data sets to develop realistic multiparameter models of tumor response and normal tissue injury; development and implementation of machine intelligence techniques that will permit us to continuously learn and adapt based on our own experience and others; novel treatment planning optimization and automation strategies; and improving our approaches toward safety and quality.
**Required Qualifications***
Masters or Ph.D. from a CAMPEP accredited medical physics program OR a Ph.D. or equivalent in Physics, Medical Physics, or related field with completion of a CAMPEP approved residency training program in Radiation Oncology Physics. Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Radiology. Evidence of clinical competence and didactic teaching is also expected.
**Desired Qualifications***
Significant aptitudes for the use of: treatment delivery, calibration and quality assurance equipment; anatomic and physiological imaging devices; computerized treatment planning; patient management and safety.
