Clinic Hours Monday - Friday, 8-5. No evenings, weekends, or holidays.
JOB SUMMARY
This position accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care with the multidisciplinary team while using the nursing process and maintaining professional nursing standards.
The Clinic Nursing Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operation and support of all clinical/nursing providing patient care within the facility. This includes the evaluation, revision, and implementation of clinical policies and procedures related to the delivery of safe and efficient quality nursing care, maintenance of clinical staff personnel and education records, in-services and performs Clinical Staff functions.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
A current Iowa License as a Registered Nurse is required.
Associate's degree in nursing is required.
Bachelor's of Science in Nursing is preferred.
Experience:
Must have demonstrated competency as an RN through a minimum of three years of experience.
Supervisory experience in an ambulatory care setting is preferred
Special Skills and Competencies:
1. Knowledge of management and nursing organizational practice to direct the operation of clinical staff.
2 Knowledge of the principles and practice of employee development to train, delegate, and mentor staff.
3. Knowledge of medical safety practices and standard requirements to evaluate existing standards and implement new procedures that are age specific.
4. Knowledge of the principles of finance and budgeting to develop and assist in managing the clinic budget.
5. Skills in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing.
6. Skills in preparing records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence.
7. Skills in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations.
8. Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making.
9. Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
10. Ability to plan, prioritize, organize and direct the work of others.
11.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
12.A sense of and willingness to accept responsibility and to be accountable for own actions.
13.). Prefer experience with Word and Excel applications.
Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.
Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 3 years.
