Position Summary: Provide administrative support to the unit. This position is a Per Diem 12-hour dayshift 7 am to 7:30 pm (scheduled days rotate; requires availability to work any scheduled day of the week including weekends).
What You Will Do:
Initiate and receive communications from Nursing Unit Director or designated Charge Nurse and Nursing Unit staff verbally, via telephone, mail, pneumatic tube, and computer system.Communicate effectively with patients or their families to meet the needs of the population served.Assemble new charts, record specified clinical information, file reports, imprint forms in clinical record, check discharge chart for completion by nurse responsible, maintains patient records.Operates computer for transcribing diagnostic orders and other computer transactions as resented.Maintains pertinent hospital data and records.Orders and maintains supplies for the nursing unit.Actively participates in all Codes and drills as scheduled.Performs other job-related duties within job scope as requested by supervisor.What You Will Need:
High School Diploma or GEDA Certificate of satisfactory completion of a formal Unit Secretary program or previous related experience in a hospital is required.Good customer-service and communication skills.Our Commitment
