Ngā Kōrero mo tēnei tūranga / About the role
The core function of the Clients & Industries team is to build internal relationships, work with our partners and our people as they generate pipeline and improve the firm’s effectiveness at winning profitable client engagements and taking new products to market.
Working with the wider Markets team, this role is an advisor and coach to the Sector Leads and Client Relationship Partners on all aspects of business development and account management.
Your day-to-day could include:
Working with account and sector teams to deliver services and solutions that help our clients solve their most important problems or realise their biggest opportunities
Working with sector lead partners to manage and drive a sector portfolio developing and executing annual business plans to deliver revenue and relationship growth and grow profile and market share
Coaching, advising and developing account and related sector teams on effective client development and relationship management skills, tactics and best practice to achieve account objectives, develop relationships and enhance client development expertise
Taking an active advisory role on key firm priorities, ‘go to market’ propositions, products and pursuits
Coaching, guiding and advising teams on formal RFP processes and best practice to deliver pipeline objectives including coaching on sales, business development and relationship approaches
Leveraging the Firm's global sales framework (Pursuit) to coach stakeholders on complex opportunities or bids, including go/no go decisions, win strategy, value-proposition development, pricing strategies and proposal roadmaps
Managing key Partner relationships to get early insight into strategic market opportunities and pipeline
Conducting client engagement feedback or debriefs on win/loss outcomes to ensure lessons are learned, action is taken and knowledge is distilled and leveraged across the Markets team and Firm

7+ years’ business development and account management experience
Experience advising on major sales strategies, priority accounts and bids and opportunities
Degree qualified with in-depth and relevant experience at executive level within a B2B or professional services environment
Excellent project/time management and organisational skills – ability to manage complex, multi workstream opportunities
Ability to adapt to, influence and collaborate with a broad range of working styles and personalities in a dynamic, deadline driven environment
Ability to work in a high pressure environment and to tight deadlines
Strong people skills with the ability to quickly build trust, credibility and rapport with senior stakeholders
Collaborative team player bringing a track record of working successfully as a member of multidisciplinary sales and marketing communications teams
Excellent communication skills; speaking, writing and editing, use of graphics and communication tools, confident in front of large groups, assertive but diplomatic in nature
Able to coach teams effectively for challenging sales situations, including knowledge of presentation coaching techniques
Able to effectively prioritise and juggle multiple competing requirements from development through to execution.
