What You’ll Be Doing

As a Client Service Associate (CSA), you’ll play a key role in supporting high-net-worth client portfolios by executing complex transactions, researching, and resolving client inquiries, and preparing monthly and quarterly meeting materials. You’ll work closely with Senior Relationship Managers and their clients to deliver the highest level of client service. In this hands-on role, you’ll have the opportunity to develop deep knowledge of client portfolios, grow your career within the Relationship Management Team, and pursue professional designations in the wealth management industry. You’ll also provide backup for all aspects of the Client Service Administrator’s responsibilities.

How You’ll Succeed

Deliver exceptional client service – Develop intimate knowledge of clients and their portfolios to provide proactive, high-touch support. Anticipate and address client needs by promptly researching and resolving inquiries, leveraging resources and collaborating with middle and back-office teams.

Execute complex transactions – Prepare monthly and quarterly client reports, update portfolio asset allocations, and analyze performance reports. Become familiar with account opening and closing, cash transaction processing, and provide trading support as needed.

Support portfolio management – Analyze and understand client portfolios, investments, and strategic segments. Become a subject matter expert on client accounts and investment offerings, supporting the team with key initiatives and special projects.

Provide administrative support – Answer telephones, prepare well-written correspondence, maintain files for reviews, and back up all aspects of the Client Service Administrator’s responsibilities.

Ensure compliance and manage risk – Integrate compliance controls and processes (regulatory, compliance, fiduciary) into day-to-day activities. Maintain a balanced approach to risk management.

Pursue continuous improvement – Be a problem solver, anticipate obstacles, and look for ways to improve processes. Demonstrate initiative and a commitment to learning and professional development.

Who You Are

Educational background: Bachelor’s degree and/or 1–5 years’ experience in trust and account administration or investments.

Experienced: Background in personal tax, financial planning, or investment management is an asset.

Detail-oriented: Strong organizational skills to manage work according to schedule and shifting priorities.

Analytical: Ability to analyze and review performance reports and client portfolios.

Tech-savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe products, with advanced Excel skills. Experience with external custodians such as Charles Schwab and Fidelity is a plus.

Strong communicator: Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with high-net-worth clients and colleagues.

Proactive and independent: Self-starter able to work independently, display initiative, and see tasks through to completion.

Client-focused: Passionate commitment to serve clients and collaborate with colleagues to exceed expectations.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package.  This role has an expected salary range of $52,000 - $65,000 for the Boston, MA market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.  The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. Additional total compensation and benefits details will be provided during the hiring process.
