The C.A.R.E. Centre is looking for a Full-Time ER Coordinator to join the ever-growing Client Care Team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an organized, motivated and empathetic individual to join us in a very specialized support role for the entire Specialty and ER hospital.
The ER Coordinator (ERC) is granted access to several key areas of the hospital, as they serve as an extension of both the administrative and medical teams. They assist the medical teams by providing clients with prepared take-home instructions for their pet’s care. They assist in communicating estimates for our emergency service and facilitating visits, all under the care of our emergency medical team.
They are champions for clients during difficult times and provide one–on–one assistance tailored to every client’s needs. This focus on the individual allows the ER Coordinator to effectively discuss financing, insurance and other payment options as needed. The ER Coordinator also serves as a champion of the human-animal bond, offering clients support and guidance as their pet approaches the end of its life.
The right candidate will have:
Exceptional communication skills that can be tailored to both clients and team members
Motivation and a positive attitude, especially in difficult situations
Displays compassion and empathy when providing care to all clients, patients and staff
Enjoys and can adapt to a fast-paced and diverse environment
Demonstrates initiative to carry out tasks independently, under minimal supervision
Able to be flexible and adaptable, given the unpredictable nature of ER work, and manage time efficiently while taking on multiple tasks
High level of attention to detail and highly accountable
A deep passion for the veterinary industry and working with pet parents
A flexible schedule. The Coordinator position works on a rotating 11-hour shift covering the busiest hours of the hospital, generally mornings and evenings (up to 3 am)
A coachable attitude that will lead to greater growth and development
At least 1 year of veterinary office experience or leadership experience in a heavy client-based role/environment
VOA certification is not required, but candidates with this certification will be greatly considered
