Welcome to the Santa Maria-Bonita School District website. We are the largest school district in Santa Barbara County with about 17,500 pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade students. BASIC FUNCTION
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform specialized, complex and responsible technical clerical duties; lead, coordinate and organize the functions and activities of clerical personnel in an assigned unit.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
Perform specialized, complex and technical clerical work using independent judgmentE; organize, coordinate, and lead clerical personnel in the assigned functional unit of activityE; analyze materials requiring a thorough familiarity with policies, practices, terminology, and applicable legal provisions of the functional unitE; maintain and compile a variety of narrative and statistical reportsE; investigate, search, and locate sources of informationE; devise forms to compile and abstract data and determine report formattingE; independently or in accordance with general instructions, compose correspondence which may include information pertaining to technical data, detailed explanations of law, policies or proceduresE; initiate and receive telephone and personal contact from District staff and the public concerning the technical and responsible functions of the work unitE; assist in the orientation and training of clerical personnelE; type from rough draft or notesE; coordinate the preparation of documents and records for microfilmingE; assist District personnel and the general public in completing forms and documentsE; coordinate the posting of legal, administrative, or highly sensitive and privileged information and data to records and filesE; prepare input data for a computerized information management, storage, and retrieval system and utilize the output reports in the office operational functionsE; operate a variety of office equipment including a computer, typewriter, copier, calculator and other office equipment as assignedE; establish and maintain various alphabetical, numerical and subject matter files and records; maintain and monitor budget of the assigned functional unit; perform related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination equivalent to: Graduation from High School supplemented by coursework or training in business practices and office management, other related skill areas and three years of responsible and varied clerical experience.

Physical Abilities:
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and a variety of office equipment;
Sitting or standing for extended periods of time;
