This entry-level role supports the Auto Claims Operation by managing claims related to material damage, property damage, and liability insurance policies issued by the Interinsurance Exchange, all while adhering to regulatory and statutory standards. Key responsibilities include conducting liability investigations, evaluating coverage, and implementing resolution and negotiation strategies for less complex claims, following established company protocols for technical accuracy and customer service excellence. Working under moderate supervision, you will operate within defined limits and procedures to effectively resolve claims.
Job Duties
- Engage with a diverse range of individuals, including policyholders and claimants, to facilitate effective communication. This involves verifying and clarifying benefits, coverage details, fault determination, and the claims process, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory and statutory guidelines, both in verbal and written formats.
- Conduct thorough investigations to assess liability and damages, distinguishing between factual evidence and allegations. This process includes gathering and documenting statements from insured parties, claimants, and witnesses to support the claims evaluation.
- Assess and negotiate settlements within established authority limits, working with both insured individuals and claimants to resolve first and third-party claims across various markets. This requires a strong understanding of estimate reviews, material damage assessments, liability evaluations, and the effective use of claims technology and tools.
- Collaborate with both internal teams and external departments as necessary to ensure a seamless claims process and to address any issues that may arise during the investigation and resolution phases. - Respond promptly to customer inquiries and needs, demonstrating a commitment to service excellence. Be prepared to work overtime and on holidays as required to meet the demands of the role and ensure timely claim resolutions.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is preferred, although prior experience in claims is not required for this position.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with general computer software applications are essential for performing daily tasks effectively.
- Strong organizational and planning skills are necessary to manage workloads efficiently and meet deadlines consistently.
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities are required to convey information clearly and effectively to clients and team members.
The starting pay range for this position is $25.48 – $28.03 per hour. Additionally, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon your team and individual performance.
