Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Civil Supervisor to oversee critical civil works on a major Oil & Gas construction project in Oman. This role requires significant experience in managing high-value, multicultural projects involving precast installation, large-scale cast-in-situ concrete structures, and underground networks (HDPE, PVC piping). The successful candidate must excel in demanding outdoor work conditions, demonstrating autonomy, resilience, and expert leadership.
Key Responsibilities: Supervise and manage civil construction activities including precast installation, cast-in-situ high-rise concrete structures, and underground HDPE/PVC pipeline installations. Ensure strict compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and HSE guidelines. Coordinate effectively with diverse multicultural teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to deliver project milestones. Monitor daily site activities, report progress, and proactively address any potential issues or delays. Manage resources efficiently, including labor, equipment, and materials to optimize productivity. Lead site coordination meetings, ensure clear communication, and maintain detailed documentation of site activities. Interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and plans accurately. Produce detailed technical reports and maintain accurate, timely records. HSE Responsibilities: Enforce and adhere strictly to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to proactively identify hazards and mitigate risks. Ensure all personnel under supervision comply with safety protocols, wearing appropriate PPE and maintaining high standards of workplace safety. Promptly report and investigate incidents, ensuring corrective actions are effectively implemented. Quality Responsibilities: Oversee rigorous implementation and adherence to quality control measures and standards throughout the civil construction phases. Conduct quality inspections and ensure all materials and workmanship meet project specifications. Address and rectify quality issues promptly, maintaining accurate documentation of quality-related records. Qualifications and Experience: Minimum of 15 years' experience in civil construction supervision, particularly in large-scale Oil & Gas or industrial projects. Demonstrated expertise with precast concrete elements, underground utilities installation (HDPE, PVC), and high-rise concrete structures (cast-in-place). Proven ability to lead and coordinate complex construction tasks in multicultural environments. Strong understanding of HSE standards and practices specific to the Oil & Gas sector. Skills and Attributes: Autonomous, highly organized, and capable of making critical decisions independently. Ability to thrive in challenging external conditions, including high temperatures, humidity, and dusty environments. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, particularly across diverse cultural groups. Professional fluency in English, Indi is a plus Strong problem-solving capabilities, proactive attitude, and robust resilience under pressure. Ability to accurately interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications. Proficient in detailed technical reporting and documentation. Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Civil Superintendent. Interaction with HSE, Quality, planning/reporting department. Working Conditions: Primarily outdoor site-based work, exposed to harsh environmental conditions typical of construction sites in the region. Physically demanding role requiring vigilance, adaptability, and robust personal resilience.
