Kimley-Horn is seeking a Civil Technician to join the Raleigh, North Carolina (NC) office to join our Transportation Planning & Traffic Operations Team! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities Has an entrepreneurial spirit, creating a vision for growth in their personal practice while contributing to the growth of our transportation engineering practice in the local area and beyondAssists in marketing and business development efforts with our existing local municipal, state, and private clients, while delivering a wide variety of transportation planning, traffic engineering, roadway, and/or ITS-related projects with our growing team of transportation professionalsBeyond serving our existing clients, has the ability to pursue own passions, leads, and clientsLeadership responsibilities include:Operating with integrity and sound business principalsProviding vision, business planning and strategyEstablishing goalsBuilding and maintaining positive client relationshipsHaving open communication with your partners and teamGrowing and leading a Transportation/Traffic practiceOur Civil Technicians manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentorThe successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.Minimum of 3 years of relevant technical/design experience in transportation engineering or related field.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing and reviewing technical drawings.Ability to interpret and apply redlines, design markups, and engineering standards.Basic experience with Civil 3D design elements (e.g., surfaces, alignments, profiles) is a plus.Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage time and deadlines independently.
