Chevron is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to support the CO? Long Term Optimisation Project (LTOP), part of Chevron’s lower carbon strategy and the Gorgon Carbon Capture and Storage initiative. This role will work closely with the Lead Civil/Structural Engineer and a multidisciplinary team to ensure the successful delivery of engineering, fabrication, and construction scopes.
Key Responsibilities Review and approve a wide range of civil/structural discipline deliverables. Monitor contractor progress and discipline resource allocation. Develop and propose technical solutions to engineering challenges. Conduct functional reviews for Management of Change (MOC). Provide subject matter expertise on civil/structural design principles. Contribute to RFPs, RFQs, and review technical bid packages. Evaluate and approve contractor CTR (Cost, Time, Resource) estimates. Respond to and approve stakeholder RFIs. Support construction and fabrication activities by resolving technical queries. Apply Chevron’s project management systems, FD&C, MOC, and capital stewardship principles. Foster effective communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams. Uphold Chevron’s commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices. Qualifications & Requirements Must-Have Skills: Extensive experience in civil/structural engineering within the oil & gas or petrochemical industry. Strong knowledge of Australian standards. Proven experience in late design phase support, including: Detailed design Fabrication Construction of structural steel, concrete, civil earthworks, trenching, and drainage systems. Collaborative and resilient mindset with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities. Nice-to-Have Skills: Proficiency in engineering software such as STAAD.Pro, Space Gass, and TEDDS. Familiarity with Chevron’s project development and execution processes, including FD&C, MOC, and Operational Excellence.
