Position Overview We’re seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil/Structural Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) license to join our growing team in Charlotte. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who enjoys solving complex structural challenges, leading projects, and making a direct impact on property owners and communities. As a Structural PE, you’ll conduct forensic investigations, structural assessments, and design work while serving as a trusted advisor to clients. You’ll enjoy a dynamic blend of fieldwork and technical reporting, with the autonomy to manage your own projects and contribute to high-level decision-making. Key Responsibilities + Lead forensic structural evaluations of residential and commercial buildings. + Prepare detailed technical reports and repair/construction design documents. + Oversee structural design for new construction and renovations. + Provide on-site technical guidance and construction administration. + Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to clients, contractors, and stakeholders. + Travel to inspection sites across the region (approx. 50% fieldwork). + Perform physical inspections in crawl spaces, attics, basements, and rooftops. Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Structural focus preferred). + Professional Engineer (PE) license(required). + Minimum5 years of structural engineering experience. + Strong technical writing and reporting skills. + Excellent interpersonal and client communication abilities. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). + Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. + Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently. Preferred Experience + Structural forensics, residential and commercial design. + Civil site design, land development, erosion control, stormwater management. + Familiarity with structural analysis software and CAD tools.
