Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Civil/Structural Engineer for a direct hire opportunity focused on advanced nuclear technology. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise and analytical capabilities to perform civil structural analyses and design services for both safety-related and non-safety-related structures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Utilize structural engineering tools and apply industry standards to design both safety-related and non-safety-related structures, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
+ Conduct post-processing analytical evaluations and design structures using various materials, including concrete and steel.
+ Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and structural engineering consultants to ensure seamless design coordination and resolution of technical challenges.
+ Assist in the development and review of requirements documents, methodology documents, calculations, specifications, designs, reports, and studies.
+ Maintain clear communication by interacting with contractors and regulatory bodies, demonstrating strong written and oral skills.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned, adapting to the changing needs of the organization.

Minimum Skills, Qualifications, and Abilities:
+ Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution is required; an advanced degree is preferred. A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is also strongly preferred.
+ Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a Structural Design Engineer. An advanced degree may offset experience requirements. Proficient in the design and analysis of structures, encompassing concrete and steel, with familiarity in using design software and finite element method analyses.
+ Knowledge of Standards: Proficiency with codes such as ASCE 43, ASCE 4, ACI 349 & 318, ASCE 7, IBC, and AISC N690 is preferred. Experience with ANSYS, LS-DYNA, and SAP2000 is a plus.
+ Technical Skills: Programming knowledge in software such as Matlab or Python is preferred but not required. Must possess a solid understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
+ Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, adept in technical writing and presentations.
Industry Requirements:
Candidates must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
Physical Demands:
This role requires the ability to communicate clearly using various mediums, learn rapidly, and apply new concepts in a fast-paced environment. Frequent requirements include sitting, standing, walking, bending, and utilizing office equipment. Candidates must be able to travel as necessary, both nationally and locally.
