Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Civil Manager to be based in Columbia, SC (alternatively, this role could work from Greenville, SC; Charleston, SC; Charlotte, NC with travel as needed to Columbia, SC).  As a Civil Manager with growing technical expertise and experience in demanding design driven projects, you will work with interdisciplinary teams on High Tech and Logistics Projects in a Programmatic approach.  We will give you the flexibility you need to do your best work with hybrid work options. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

Design of utilities, roadways, general site development, grading and drainage, best management practices, erosion control, profiles, typical sections, cross sections, hydraulicsDrainage studies include low impact development strategies & hydrology.Preparation of drawings, specifications, basis of design, technical memos.Preparation of permits such as NPDES, SWPPP, Grading, DCAB, Civil Support of an Environmental AssessmentWorks with other professional staff members to collaborate on reports, studies, drawings, and design narratives Utilizes AutoCad Civil 3D and Microsoft Office products including Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPointWorks in an office setting with potential meetings outside of the office or visits to sites where a project may be located Prepares complex project deliverables using a team of junior technical and support staffMay have formal supervisory responsibilities defining team operating standards and ensuring essential procedures are followedAssists with proposals to provide services or obtain funding for projects or programsUse client credibility gained from delivering high-quality technical services to expand work assignmentsCommunicates with clients to discuss work scope, request information to support project execution, and receive client comments on draft work productsPerforms specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined proceduresWorks on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.Performs interdisciplinary review of project deliverables and identifies discrepancies in resultsProvides guidance to entry level engineers.Prepares technical specification sections.Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, plus eight (8) years of relevant Civil Engineering experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education2 years of demonstrated Civil Engineering Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

10 or more years of experienceA current EIT in the State of South Carolina with ability to attain PE within 2 yearsExcellent working knowledge of CAD Civil 3D, BIM-Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Sketchup, Lumion, V-Ray and Rhino 3DExperience in Autodesk RevitExperience with Bluebeam, Navisworks and EnscapeExperience with Adobe Photoshop and InDesignProficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookAbility to meet quality, schedule and budget expectationsDesire to be mentored by leadership and provide mentorship to junior staffExcellent oral and written communication skillsAwareness of one's own abilitiesDetail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big pictureMust be a highly motivated self-starter with solid writing and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracy of work with a innate desire for follow-throughAbility to work independently and with large groups of technical minded people with minimal oversightAbility to multi-task and be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deadlinesAbility to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environmentKnowledge seeker that is curious about their profession and innovations to serve in better waysAppreciative and service oriented with a willingness to serve in a sense of urgency
