An Intern will work collaboratively with our teams to support a Burns McDonnell Department, Global Practice or Regional Office. This position will provide support and assistance with requests in support of the business strategy.
Our Engineering Interns are responsible for performing tasks requiring the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures. This includes standard design of engineering systems, correcting and updating designs, assisting lead engineers with various project duties, and other duties as assigned.

Aviation Federal
The Aviation Federal group is responsible for program management, master planning, facility design commissioning, and operational systems design of commercial aviation and Federal Military projects, including buildings, infrastructure, hangars, passenger terminals, fueling ramp services, runways, and aviation support facilities.
Power
The Power group is responsible for the planning, design and startup of power generation technologies including gas turbines, solar, batteries, hydrogen, carbon capture and nuclear plant services.
Transportation
The Transportation group is responsible for the planning and design of bridges, highways, ports, rail systems, streets and arterials, trails, and pathways with additional focus on stakeholder outreach, traffic engineering, long-range planning, policy development.
Transmission Distribution
The Transmission Distribution group is responsible for the planning and design of electrical transmission projects in power delivery, including overhead transmission, underground transmission, distribution systems, substation design, telecommunication network engineering, pipelines, renewable power integration, security, grid modernization and more.
Assist with tasks that may include filing, scanning, data entry, documentation, Power Point presentation.Assist with responses to general questions.Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.Present solutions to concerns.Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems.Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.Performs other duties as assignedComplies with all policies and standards
