Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc., is seeking a Civil Engineering III in Conshohocken, PA.

Job details:

Understand project delivery standards and procedures for clients such as PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, DelDOT, Philadelphia International Airport, and SEPTA.Guide and train junior engineers to understand project delivery standards, needs and procedures for clients such as PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, DelDOT, Philadelphia International Airport, and SEPTA to ensure work results will have positive impact.Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and analysis, stormwater management design and erosion and sediment control design for transportation projects.Lead a team to perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and analysis, stormwater management design and erosion and sediment control design for transportation projects.Provide guidance and training to junior engineers.Assign tasks and check work completed by junior engineers.Perform field inspections of stormwater management practices for transportation projects.Lead a team to perform field inspections of stormwater management practices for transportation projects.Assign tasks to junior engineers and check inspection reports.Develop and negotiate budget and schedule to complete engineering design tasks.Perform assignments in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule.Lead a team of junior engineers to complete tasks in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule. Assign work and communicate budget/schedule expectations to junior engineer.Monitor task budget and schedule progress, and report to project manager or client.Complete assigned work independently and receive general guidance and direction on new projects, tasks and priorities.Exercise independent judgement in determining how work is performed.Perform work in accordance with AECOM quality control protocol.Lead a team to perform work in accordance with AECOM quality control protocol.Check work completed by junior engineers, and complete forms to document quality control process. Identify discrepancies in results and develop approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignment.Proactively identify and advocate for improvements to existing processes and procedures.Adjust to new processes or changing assignments and consider alternative approaches to complete work. Exchange information on sensitive matters and work to build consensus across teams and departments.May telecommute.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental engineering, or related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.

Position requires:

Stormwater management design and modeling following Pennsylvania and Delaware regulations and standards;Surface drainage design and closed drainage system modeling for highway construction projects;Erosion and sediment control design following Pennsylvania and Delaware regulations and standards;Design of water and sewer line relocation for highway construction;Existing utility coordination and drafting for highway construction projects;Preparation of plans, specifications, quantity tabulations, and cost estimates following PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and DelDOT standards and criteria;Construction observation and field inspection of stormwater management, erosion control, and surface drainage facilities;Bentley Microstation, In-Roads, Open Roads Designer, and ProjectWise;AutoCAD Civil 3D;ArcGIS;HydroCAD; andHydraulic Toolbox.
