Job Title: Civil Engineering Designer

Job Description

We are seeking motivated individuals with a strong desire to learn and a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment to join our team in South Charlotte (Fort Mill, SC). This position involves design in land development and construction document preparation for roads, storm drainage systems, storm water management facilities, water and sanitary sewer utility design, sediment and erosion control, and traffic control associated with industrial, commercial, and power-related projects. Responsibilities

Design civil site and land development projects using Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D software.Prepare technical design calculations for industrial, commercial, and power-related projects, including storm drainage hydraulic sizing and water distribution modeling.Perform preliminary engineering evaluations, quantity take-offs, and opinions of probable construction cost.Conduct site visits and prepare associated field reports.Coordinate and observe various field testing, such as water pressure testing and manhole vacuum testing.Develop strong relationships with team members and perform work with a small team through design, permitting, and construction observation.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in design using Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and civil engineering principles.Experience in land development, permitting, and construction observation.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.A strong desire to continue learning and advance professionally.Ability to work in a fast-paced, design team environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (BSCE) or Engineering Technology (BSCET).EI/EIT certification required; PE preferred.2+ years of qualifying civil engineering design experience.Previous experience with AutoCAD and similar software preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Mill, South Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $40.86/hr.
