Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Civil Engineering CAD Designer to join our Saskatoon, SK team.
You will bring strong civil engineering technology skills, proficiency in Civil 3D, and hands-on experience with surveying equipment (GPS, total station, and aerial data collection). Your background includes surveying, design, and inspection of municipal infrastructure.
In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with project teams, communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, and contribute to the delivery of municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater projects. We’re looking for a motivated, energetic professional who takes initiative and thrives in a team environment.
The responsibilities of this position include:
Support engineers and project managers on civil and wastewater treatment plant design projects.Prepare engineering drawings and designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and MicroStation.Develop profile drawings, grading and drainage designs, plant roads, piping layouts, and other civil structures from concept through final design.Coordinate drawings and design inputs with project managers, engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure standards and deadlines are met.Complete municipal infrastructure design, including road reconstruction, land development, stormwater management, site plans, and lot grading.Work with CAD/BIM/GIS technical staff to manage complex data sets and ensure data quality and integrity.Prepare civil design calculations, quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and project documentation.Support quality control processes and promptly flag engineering issues to the Project Manager.Conduct occasional site inspections.QualificationsMinimum Requirements
4+ years of related experience in municipal civil engineering CAD/ design experience with surface grading, watermain, sewer pipe networks, and detailed designCertified or eligible for certification as a Civil C.E.T. and a member of the Saskatchewan Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and TechnologistsDiploma in Civil Engineering Technology (or equivalent)Experience working with AutoCAD and Civil 3DPreferred Qualifications
Proficient in Civil 3D, Revit 2025, and working with GIS data.Experienced in topographic surveying using GPS, total stations, and scanning technologies (LIDAR, photogrammetry, point clouds).Skilled in creating base plans from survey data and supporting road reconstruction, land development, lot grading, and stormwater management design.Capable of preparing quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and performing construction inspections.Strong communicator with effective time-management skills and comfort working in a multidisciplinary environment.Additional InformationSponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.About AECOM
