The position will be based in Baton Rouge, LA. Your role is to work with guidance and direction on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a Senior Engineer. You will participate in the evaluation, recommendation, and specification for engineered systems or products for a project verifying compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards/practices. **Your Key Responsibilities** + CAD drafting and design software to develop construction plans for Subdivision, Commercial, Institutional and Infrastructure projects + Preparing complete submission packages, design reports, supporting calculations, cost estimates, project schedules, and other duties + Coordinating design components with other disciplines, and possible work with other offices (possibly involving some travel) + Collecting field data to support engineering projects + Assisting with construction site observation and meetings + Other entry-level engineering duties as needed to support infrastructure projects. **Your Capabilities and Credentials** + As the successful candidate, you are a self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and take pride in your work + Computer literacy in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microsoft Word, MS Teams, Excel, and other standard office software is an asset + Familiarity with subdivision, site plan and/or municipal engineering drawings + Knowledge of the local geographic area and area municipality design standards is an asset + Working knowledge of AutoCAD Map and GIS is an asset **Education and Experience** + A graduate of a College or University program, ideally in civil technology /civil engineering or related field + Active Engineer Intern (EI) license by Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board (LAPELS) or ability to be licensed within 6 months + Experience in a design, drafting or field inspection role within a land development or construction environment Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
