Job Title: Civil Engineer EITJob Description

We are seeking motivated individuals with a strong desire to learn and a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment to join our team in South Charlotte (Fort Mill, SC). This position includes design in land development and construction document preparation for roads, storm drainage systems, storm water management facilities, water and sanitary sewer utility design, sediment and erosion control, and traffic control associated with industrial, commercial, and power-related projects. ResponsibilitiesPerform work with a small team through civil site/land development design, permitting, and construction observation on a variety of industrial, commercial, and power-related projects.Develop strong relationships with team members.Perform design of land development projects using Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D software.Perform and prepare technical design calculations associated with industrial, commercial, and power-related projects, including storm drainage hydraulic sizing, water distribution modeling, best management practices (BMP), sanitary sewer collection systems, and erosion control measures.Conduct preliminary engineering evaluations, including quantity take-offs and opinions of probable construction cost.Perform site visits and prepare associated field reports.Observe and provide general coordination for various field testing, such as water pressure testing, gravity sewer low pressure testing, and manhole vacuum testing.
Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Engineering (BSCE) or Engineering Technology (BSCET).EI/EIT certification required; PE preferred.2+ years of qualifying civil engineering design experience.Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong desire to continue learning and advance professionally.Ability to work in a fast-paced, design team environment.
Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience with permitting processes.Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.Satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Mill, South Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $40.86/hr.
