Short Description
•Engineering Project Assistant – minimum 0.5 years of in-building-wireless experience required.
•Support Citywide (In-Building) Wireless and related capital build work under PL-402C account.
•Providing daily capital project support activities to the engineering and project/program management – including daily updates to existing/emerging business processes to manage program workflow.
•As work schedule permits participate in both on-site and / or in-office activities.
•Fact gathering and reporting in a technology environment.
•Must be willing to commit to participate in at least three (3) professional development opportunities as offered by the Program (including, but not limited to: iBwave design; individual distributed antenna system (DAS) manufacturer “in-service” (i.e., Corning Mobile Access, Solid, etc.)
•Candidate must be willing to commit to seek a professional certification of their choice – by 9/30/16.
•Other tasks within the scope of the project as appropriate.
•Position will require someone who has ability to search, analyze and report on data presented to them for consideration.
Description Narrative:
Work with a positive sense of urgency and have ability to follow through on every detail and be able to prepare reports on a timely basis. Analyze data, use and update information systems and databases, demonstrate a basic understanding of how to search databases in general (in particular to either quickly understand and / or to demonstrate the ability to master existing work-flow management software using Microsoft Access).
Will be required to initiate contact with many levels of technology specialists across the District to gather data as well as explain value of Citywide Wireless, as a service, delivered in concert with DC-Net / OCTO and other stakeholders (agencies, contractors, other).
Must be committed to performing and / or to taking good faith effort to performing the tasks listed in the “short description” above.
Must be willing to move around the District to visit any DC Agency.

College Degree - Highly desired (will require significant, relevant hands-on experience, and proven ability to learn technical material quickly, if this criteria is not met)
