Citrix Expert (Senior)
Position Description:

CGI Group is responsible for all services delivered to end-users like Desktop Services (Physical/virtual, mobile workstations & print services), Unified communication services (Messaging ,  Phones, Trading Telephony and meeting room conferencing solutions) , collaboration services ,   user facing support functions and all associated technical services (collaborative tools, messaging, desktop engineering, security, technical directories) and all infrastructure services that support these services like User data management, IT directories and Multi-factor authentication, Packaging and software deployment services.
 
What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?
The primary mission is to provide Citrix services for client entities across the Americas and globally. Our focus is on Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop application virtualization, ensuring seamless access to Windows applications through various devices.
 
Key Responsibilities:
- Senior Citrix Expertise: Serve as a senior-level Citrix expert, handling both operational and design engineering responsibilities for the AMER Citrix perimeter.
- Global Support and Operations: Act as a senior Citrix resource for operations, functional teams, and projects from a global perspective.
- Solution Design and Implementation: Collaborate closely with IT and business partners to design and implement solutions aligned with business requirements.
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex application connection and performance issues.
- Change and Risk Management: Ensure all production changes follow the established production lifecycle, adhering to risk and change management guidelines.
- On-call and After-hours Support: Participate in on-call rotations, covering after-hours and potential weekend shifts in collaboration with the team's flexible scheduling.
- Operational Documentation: Review and develop operational procedures in coordination with global counterparts in Paris.
- Incident Escalation and Management: Escalate incidents appropriately to Control Towers and management, and regularly review incident handling to enhance monitoring and reduce ticket volume.
- Mentorship: Provide mentorship and technical guidance to other team members within the department.
- Architecture and Strategy: Actively engage in architecture reviews and contribute to strategic development activities.
- L3 and Application Support: Deliver L3 support and application assistance for incident management.
- This role demands a high level of expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a global, dynamic environment.
 
 
Profile
Skills and Qualifications:
Must Have:
- Senior Citrix Infrastructure Support: Minimum 5+ years of experience in administering and supporting Citrix infrastructure (XenApp and XenDesktop 19.12).
- Senior IT Infrastructure Support: Minimum 5+ years of experience in Level 3 infrastructure support, focusing on Citrix and related technologies.
- Scripting and Automation: Minimum 2+ years of experience in scripting (PowerShell, VBScript, CMD), with strong automation skills.
- Windows Server Expertise: Minimum 3+ years of experience in Windows Server 2012 and 2016 installation and support. Experience with Windows Server 2016 & 2019 is an asset.
- Citrix XenDesktop: Minimum 3+ years of experience in XenDesktop installation and support.
- End-User Workspace Management: Experience administering and supporting Ivanti end-user workspace management solutions.
- Netscaler Support: Experience administering and supporting Netscaler (12.1) is a plus.
- Exposure to Broader IT Infrastructure: Familiarity with other infrastructure areas such as Active Directory, VMware, NAS Storage, Backup & Recovery, and SQL Server.
- Advanced Technical Skills: Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities, particularly in complex IT environments.
 
 
Competencies:
- ITIL Knowledge: Understanding of ITIL frameworks (Incident, Problem, Request, Change Management).
- Agile Methodology: Knowledge of Agile methodologies and their application in IT projects.
- Project Management: Basic understanding of project management principles and experience managing project-related tasks.
- Communication and Presentation Skills: Ability to explain complex technical concepts to various stakeholders, using communication tools like PowerPoint and digital platforms.
- Client-Oriented Mindset: Strong client orientation, with the ability to simplify complex issues and teach effectively.
- Collaboration and Autonomy: Capable of working autonomously while being a strong team player, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
 
 
Languages: French and English
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
