Job Description
As a Chop Line Operator, you will be responsible for preparing and monitoring the chop line, which is crucial for cutting long strands of carbon fiber into smaller pieces. The role involves handling a rack of 76 spools that feed the carbon fiber into the chopper and ensuring a seamless transition from active to backup spools. Your duties will also include specifying the type of cut through an HMI screen and monitoring the line for any buildup.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare and monitor the chop line for cutting carbon fiber strands.Maintain a continuous supply of spools by tying them together for seamless transitions.Specify the type of cut using an HMI screen.Monitor eyelets and remove carbon fiber buildup.Collect and tie closed bags of finished product.Learn to build backup chopper heads for the chop line.Essential SkillsMinimum of one year of manufacturing experience.Proficiency in machine operation, fabrication, and packaging.Ability to work with hand tools and perform general labor tasks.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in construction or carpentry is beneficial.Basic math skills are advantageous.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The work environment is challenging, with temperatures in the chop area exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit during summer months. It is important to stay hydrated. There is a consistent presence of carbon fiber dust, requiring the use of long sleeves, long pants, gloves, steel-toed boots, and protective masks. Full suits are provided for processes with extreme dust levels. You will work in teams of two on 12-hour shifts with a swing schedule, ensuring work-life balance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Charles, Missouri.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.26 - $23.92/hr.
