As part of this team, you'll work on a wide range of tasks in physical design, including: * Floorplanning, synthesis and integration of individual processor units and the entire chip * Optimization of design parameters such as speed, area and power consumption * Use of state-of-the-art methods for design, implementation and optimization * Development and continuous optimization of existing tools, workflows and processes * Close collaboration with other teams such as logic design, library and IP design or EDA Your Team We take pride in developing IT solutions that meet the highest standards of quality. Ideally, you have: * Completed university degree (Bachelor, Master or PhD) in electrical engineering, computer engineering, materials science, physics or similar disciplines * Knowledge of the circuit design fundamentals (digital or analog) * Knowledge of the physical design flow with standard cells (ASICs or processors) * Experience with CAD tools for the physical design flow (e.g. Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics etc.) is an advantage * Knowledge of a programming or scripting language (e.g. Python) * Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g. GitHub, Jenkins) is an advantage * Interest in design tools and design automation is an advantage * Strong team player and open minded to work in an international team * Strong communication skills in English and preferably in German IBM is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
