Responsibilities: Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks for children in accordance with dietary guidelines. Plan weekly menus that cater to dietary restrictions and preferences. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards. Collaborate with teaching staff to incorporate food education into the curriculum. Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed to ensure freshness and availability. Engage with children during meal times to promote healthy eating habits. Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance culinary skills. Ensure compliance with local health regulations and licensing requirements. Requirements: Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in childcare or educational settings. Level one Fingerprint Clearance Card. Knowledge of nutrition and dietary needs for young children. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor with children and staff. Food Handler's Certification or willingness to obtain one. Commitment to creating a positive and safe dining experience for children. Flexibility to adapt to changing menus and dietary requirements. Passion for cooking and a desire to inspire healthy eating habits in children. Capable of meeting physical demands of working in the kitchen.
