**General Summary** Develops, coordinates and presents childbirth education programs for the community. **Duties and Responsibilities** + Provides accurate information about the physiology, psychology, and sociology of pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and early parenthood. + Provides skills to assist women and their support persons to cope with pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and early parenthood. + Acts as a facilitator who helps couples better understand and value their experience as they transition into parenthood. + Provides an avenue for communication between the pregnant women and other members of the health care team. + Serves as an advocate for pregnant women, their partners and infants. + Communicates accurate information about pregnancy, childbirth, childcare, and early parenthood in a clear, concise, understandable manner + Serves as a resource to the community by developing and planning programs in response to identified needs. + Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards. + Enhances professional growth and development through advanced/continuing education to maintain up-to-date knowledge, skills, and competencies. + Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation. + Performs other related duties as identified. + WellSpan Health has adopted and implemented a compliance program to support WellSpan's values and standards for professionalism, integrity, and ethics.
