Chief Sales Officer, US Employee Benefits

The Chief Sales Officer for US Employee Benefits is a senior executive responsible for leading and executing the sales strategy specifically focused on employee benefits products and services. They are responsible for meeting overall growth and profitability targets, in conjunction with the sales objectives of the HUB region.

Responsibilities:

Develop EB Specialty Practices, similar to those developed within P&C, including how information and results are shared with Producers and LeadershipWork closely with Workforce Development to develop and deliver sales training to Producers, including, but not limited to, the development of sales and educational videosWork closely with other CSO’s on best practices to drive EB OG within their respective HUBs, including the development of business plans where appropriateAs a key member of the EB EMT, work with EB Regional Benefit Presidents and Market Leaders on initiatives to drive OGSupport recruiting and hiring of Top Gun-level EB producers and sales managementPromote interdepartmental resource sharing, identify opportunities for cross selling and capitalize on similar association marketingSupport leadership on sales budgets for their respective HUBs to ensure adequate investments are madeEstablish a positive EB sales cultureAbility to engage corporate resources to support sales and marketingStrategize with Market Leaders to retain business year over yearDevelop internal resources/experts to assist all producers in closing businessDevelop and disseminate best practices for conducting EB sales meetingsResponsible for attending Hub sales leadership meetingsEnsure Leaders are implementing and executing on the Critical Path ProcessResponsible for developing enterprise EB pipeline reportsPositively and proactively represent HUB nationally in meetings, seminars, trade shows and networking events to enhance our EB brandAs part of the EB EMT, ensures continuous development of products and service offerings aligned with identified needs of customers in the market segmentsOther duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field of studyValid Life and Health Insurance licenseAt least 10 years of progressive, successful sales experience; majority must be within an agency, brokerage or consulting firmBe a hands-on manager; enjoys mentoring and direct management of staff; also, desire to work alongside producers in the field helping to originate new business through your personal networks and close accounts in team-based salesCan institute effective employee development procedures which address training, processes and procedures, E&O avoidance, continuing education, recruiting, hiring and disciplinary actionsProven progressive sales track record in driving new business resultsA consultative, positive and resourceful approach to dealing with prospect, clients and associatesHighly developed organization and time management skillsExcellent listening skillsStrong written, verbal & interpersonal communication skillsPublic speaking and presentation experienceStrong degree of self-motivationDemonstrated ability to lead and motivate othersInfluential and persuasive with the ability to partner across HUB and work well with segment and other practice leaders

Disclosure required under applicable law in California, Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, New Jersey, and Washington states: The expected salary range for this position is $275,000 to $375,000  and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
