**Chief Operating Officer** Job Description We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Operating Officer to translate strategic objectives into actionable operational services. This role involves overseeing client projects, ensuring quality and compliance, and driving operational efficiencies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business management, clinical research, and regulatory affairs, with a commitment to enhancing service delivery through innovation and collaboration. Responsibilities + Translate strategic objectives into actionable operational services. + Oversee and execute client projects, ensuring adherence to bids, protocols, timelines, and budgets. + Design, implement, and continuously improve operational processes for efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. + Manage budgets, resources, and staffing levels to support operational goals and strategic initiatives. + Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and internal teams. + Act as a strategic partner and integrated extension of client teams to meet project goals. + Ensure all operations adhere to relevant regulations and standards. + Communicate operational strategies, progress, and risks to staff, executives, and external teams. + Streamline operations through continuous Quality Management System improvements. + Lead marketing and sales activities to drive business growth. + Leverage technology to enhance operational efficiency and implement digital transformation initiatives. + Establish clear key performance indicators (KPIs) and conduct performance reviews. Essential Skills + Advanced degree in relevant fields such as life sciences, engineering, medicine, business administration, or a related scientific discipline. + Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in the life sciences industry. + Minimum 5 years in a senior operational or leadership role. + Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and resource allocation. + Deep understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and related fields. + Ability to build and manage high-performing teams and implement talent retention strategies. + Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. + Proven track record in scaling operations and managing complex projects. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Additional certifications in CRQE fields. + Experience with venture capital, fundraising, and business development processes. + Experience designing or delivering CRQE training. + Experience setting up or managing research infrastructure. + Entrepreneurial spirit and adaptability. Work Environment This is a 100% remote role with a requirement to travel 5-10%. The role is fractional and requires someone who can help build structures and drive organizational growth in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $150.00 - $200.00/hr.
