Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Operating Officer

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will direct nursing practice in the hospital and assigned business entities maintaining consistent and high-quality standards of patient care. Develops and deploys nursing policies, objectives, and initiatives for the department; reviews departmental operations to ensure compliance with established standards. You will also oversee the strategic and operational business functions of key service lines. This will include facilities, real estate, and construction projects, marketing needs, food and nutrition services, environmental services, safety and security services, and some clinical services.

You’ll be responsible for designing and implementing business plans, performance goals, and growth of existing and new service lines that directly impact the quality of the environment where our patients receive care. You will build trust in these interactions by learning and leveraging your team's strengths and facilitating and encouraging collaboration.

Manages the resources (e.g. staff, materials and finances) of the nursing department; plans and directs all nursing activities in that facility.Develops and deploys nursing policies, objectives, and initiatives for the department; reviews departmental operations to ensure compliance with established standards.Drives the delivery of quality and cost-effective patient care; oversees the performance of nursing staff.Develops the overall competency level of nursing staff; coordinates quality enhancement and process improvement tasks.
Job Requirements

Required

Bachelors Other Nursing or Related field - either BSN or MSN and Minimum of ten (10) years of nursing experience, upon hire andMasters Other Nursing, NBA, MHA, Education, Public Health; must have BSN or MSN and five (5) years of nurse leadership experience, upon hireRegistered Nurse: CA, upon hireUnion and Labor relations experience- proven ability to partner with labor leaders while maintaining operational accountabilityExperience improving employee engagement and survey outcomes

Experience partnering closely with Quality, Patient Experience, and Medical Staff leaders

Strong understanding of evidence-based practice adoption and culture change

Demonstrated commitment to community engagement and visibility beyond the hospital walls

Comfort representing the organization at local events and building external relationships

Strong alignment with mission-driven, faith-based health-care values

Experience supporting or operationalize service line growth, including surgical programs and women’s services
