Position Statement
The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing all engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel, and work together with the integrated shopping mall. This role ensures the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of the property while maintaining compliance with local regulations and brand standards. The Chief Engineer leads a team of technicians and contractors to deliver exceptional guest and tenant experiences through proactive maintenance and efficient energy management, through sustainable practices.

What will I be doing? 
As the Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Operational Management: 

Lead and manage all engineering operations including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and building systems. 

Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for hotels rooms, public areas, bac-of-house, food & beverage and culinary spaces. 

Ensure all equipment and systems are operating efficiently and safely.

Team Leadership: 

Supervise and train all engineering team members, ensuring high performance and adherence to safety protocols. 

Schedule and allocate tasks to ensure timely completion of maintenance requests and projects. 

Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, hospitality and continuous improvement. 

Project & Assent Management: 

Plan and execute capital improvement projects and renovations in coordination with the respective stakeholders. 

Maintain accurate records of equipment, warranties, service contracts, and maintenance logs. 

Manage vendor relationships and oversee outsourced maintenance services.

Compliance & Safety: 

Ensure compliance with local building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards. 

Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify risks and implement corrective actions. 

Lead emergency response efforts related to engineering systems (eg. Power outages, water leaks).

Energy & Sustainability: 

Monitor energy usage and implement initiatives to reduce consumption and improve sustainability. 

Recommend upgrades and retrofits to improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs. 

Leads and drives the Green Mark certification process and the annual renewal for the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) certification. 

What are we looking for? 
A Chief Engineer serving Hilton Brands and is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

Professional qualification in Engineering, Building and maintenance related field.

At least 8-10 years in an Engineering environment and/or at least have 3 years in a Chief Engineer position in a large-scale hotel/hospitality concept.

Have specialized knowledge on water treatment, hydraulics, mechanics, chillers, air flows, H.V.A.C., L.V., electronics, sound, TV, lighting, elevators, boilers, pumps, etc. 

Capable of maintenance for all hotel building services including air-conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, electrical installation, lighting system, plumbing system, boiler, laundry, kitchen, lift, fire protection, escalator, sound system, TV system, etc.

Possess a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, stakeholder engagement experience and regulatory knowledge.
