The Chief Cybersecurity Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing cybersecurity solutions in a hybrid on-premises/cloud environment. HOW A CHIEF CYBERSECURITY ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Independently performs a variety of system design and integration tasks which are broad in nature and are concerned with design, implementation and architecting of major systems, systems of systems, integration of systems elements and related support systems.Develops cutting-edge solutions that display ingenuity and are achieved through collaboration and dialogue with other experts in the field.Leverages expert knowledge and mastery of highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts.Supervises team of engineers through project completion.Provides Subject Matter Expertise in one or more specific areas of cybersecurity, computer system design and networking.Leads cybersecurity engineering efforts for securing enterprise systems and networks.Designs, implements, and maintains robust security solutions for a hybrid on-premises and cloud environment.Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into technology solutions.Conducts risk assessments and vulnerability testing to identify and mitigate security threats.Develops and enforces security policies, standards, and guidelines.Monitors and responds to security incidents, ensuring rapid and effective mitigation.Provides guidance and mentorship to junior cybersecurity team members.Assists in transitioning the organization’s security posture from on-premises to a hybrid model.Prepares and presents cybersecurity status and metrics to senior leadership and stakeholders.WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
10 years of IT experience with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a cybersecurity engineer.Alternatively, 4 years of experience employed in a governmental organization (as a government or contract employee) as a cybersecurity engineer.2 years of experience with governmental (FedRAMP) hybrid on-premises and cloud technology stack environments, with preference given to cybersecurity engineers with transition experience moving from an on-premises to a hybrid on-premises and cloud network solution.Active Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.Proven experience in cybersecurity risk management and mitigation.Strong understanding of cloud security principles and practices.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills for interaction with all levels of staff and customers.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience transitioning from an on-premises to a hybrid on-premises and cloud security solution.Additional certifications such as CISM, CEH, or equivalent.Familiarity with federal security regulations and compliance standards.Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM, etc.).Knowledge of advanced persistent threats (APTs) and mitigation strategies.Experience with any combination of the following is preferred: Splunk, Endpoint Security Solutions, Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs), Tenable Security Center, NessusJoin GDIT to make a substantial impact on the security posture of a critical federal organization and work with a team dedicated to innovation and excellence.
