Chief Corporate Development Officer

The Chief Corporate Development Officer (CCDO) will lead corporate development efforts in a dynamic and evolving healthcare landscape. This executive will drive inorganic growth through M&A, joint ventures, partnerships, and strategic investments across the healthcare continuum, including payers, providers, digital health, and life sciences. The role requires industry knowledge, a deep understanding of capital markets, healthcare regulations, business models, and value-based care, along with proven experience executing complex deals and partnerships in the sector. Success in this role will be measured by the quality and impact of executed deals, integration outcomes, strategic alignment, and contribution to long-term enterprise value.\n\nCorporate Development & M&A:\n•\tLead the sourcing, evaluation, and execution of strategic acquisitions, divestitures, investments, and partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem.\n•\tWork closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities aligned with organizational goals in areas such as care delivery, population health, health tech, and specialty services.\n•\tSource high-quality deals by developing a deep understanding of the operating model, integration needs, and value drivers to ensure strategic fit and maximize outcomes.\n•\tAssess viability and economic modeling to ensure alignment with current and potential offerings and/or revenue generating opportunities. \n•\tManage deal processes from start to finish, including due diligence, valuation, negotiation, and post-merger integration.\n\nHealthcare Strategy & Innovation:\n•\tCollaborate with the executive team to shape corporate strategy, identifying emerging trends in digital health, telemedicine, AI in diagnostics, and value-based care.\n•\tEvaluate new business models and innovations in health delivery, financing, and patient engagement.\n•\tConduct market intelligence and competitive analysis to support strategic planning and growth.\n\nStrategic Partnerships & Ecosystem Development:\n•\tForge strategic alliances and joint ventures with health systems, payers, tech companies, and academic/research institutions.\n•\tDevelop and manage relationships with venture capital and private equity firms focused on healthcare innovation.\n•\tAct as a senior ambassador for the company in external deal and partnership discussions.\n\nCross-Functional Leadership:\n•\tBuild and lead a high-performing corporate development team with expertise in healthcare strategy, finance, and operations.\n•\tCollaborate with clinical, operational, legal, regulatory, and technology teams to ensure alignment and compliance in deal execution.\n•\tLead enterprise change management efforts related to corporate development initiatives, ensuring alignment, communication, and adoption across all levels of the organization.\n•\tPrepare and present business cases and updates to the executive leadership team and board.

EVP/SVP-level candidate, so it does not necessarily have to be a C-Suite player (we have SVP’s, EVP’s, and Chiefs part of our ELT).\nQualifications:\n•\t15+ years of progressive experience in corporate development, healthcare M&A, investment banking, private equity, or management consulting.\n•\tDeep knowledge of the healthcare industry, including payer, provider, and/or digital health sectors.\n•\tProven experience sourcing, structuring, and integrating deals in a highly regulated environment.\n•\tExceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and financial modeling skills.\n•\tExcellent executive communication and stakeholder management capabilities.\n•\tBachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Healthcare Administration; MBA or relevant advanced degree strongly preferred.\n\nPreferred Attributes:\n•\tTrack record of success in value-based care, risk-based models, or vertically integrated healthcare systems.\n•\tExperience working with CMS, HIPAA, and other U.S. healthcare regulatory frameworks.\n•\tFamiliarity with digital health trends, interoperability, AI/ML applications, and healthcare IT infrastructure.\n•\tAbility to manage ambiguity and drive change in a complex, mission-driven organization.

The pay range for this position is $275000.00 - $325000.00/yr.
