**Position Summary**
The Manager, Technology Architecture & Standards (Chief Architect) is responsible for establishing and governing enterprise-wide technology architecture standards to enable a resilient, scalable, and “Zero Outage” IT environment.
This leader will define and operationalize modern architecture frameworks, drive enterprise technology standards, and partner closely with internal IT teams and our Managed Service Provider (MSP) to ensure consistent implementation and compliance. The Chief Architect must be highly collaborative, technically sharp, and capable of influencing stakeholders across clinical, operational, and executive domains.
This role requires a self-driven leader who combines strategic thinking with hands-on technical depth and the ability to build alignment across a complex organization.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Enterprise Architecture Leadership**
+ Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture framework (e.g., TOGAF or equivalent hybrid model).
+ Establish architecture principles aligned to business strategy and the Zero Outage IT objective.
+ Lead architecture governance through formal Architecture Review Boards (ARBs).
+ Define current-state and target-state technology roadmaps across domains.
**Technology Standards & Governance**
+ Define, publish, and govern enterprise technology standards (compute, network, cloud, security, endpoint, collaboration, etc.).
+ Establish lifecycle management standards for infrastructure and platforms.
+ Implement compliance review processes to ensure adherence to approved standards.
+ Maintain a centralized architecture repository and standards library.
**Zero Outage & Resiliency Architecture**
+ Embed high-availability, redundancy, and failover design patterns into all technology standards.
+ Define availability tiers, RTO/RPO standards, and resiliency requirements.
+ Partner with operations to incorporate lessons learned from incidents into architectural improvements.
+ Identify and eliminate single points of failure across infrastructure and applications.
**Managed Service Provider (MSP) Governance**
+ Serve as the primary architecture authority working with the MSP.
+ Ensure MSP solutions align with enterprise architecture standards.
+ Participate in solution design reviews, contract scope validation, and performance governance.
+ Establish architecture compliance metrics and reporting mechanisms.
**Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence**
+ Partner with Clinical/Business, Application, Cloud, Infrastructure, Security, and Endpoint architects.
+ Build strong relationships with IT operations, cybersecurity, and executive leadership.
+ Drive consensus on architectural decisions in a matrixed environment.
+ Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
**Innovation & Modernization**
+ Evaluate emerging technologies and modernization opportunities.
+ Drive adoption of cloud, automation, containerization, AI-enabled tools, and infrastructure-as-code where appropriate.
+ Balance innovation with operational stability and risk management.
**Preferred Experience**
+ 10+ years in IT infrastructure, enterprise architecture, or technology strategy roles.
+ 5+ years in a leadership or enterprise-wide architecture capacity.
+ Experience implementing or governing architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, FEAF, or similar).
+ Demonstrated experience defining and enforcing enterprise technology standards.
+ Experience working with Managed Service Providers in a governance or oversight capacity.
+ Proven track record of influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
**Technical Expertise**
+ Deep understanding of:
+ Hybrid cloud architecture (Azure, AWS, GCP)
+ Virtualization and compute platforms
+ Enterprise networking (SD-WAN, ACI, firewalls, load balancers)
+ Identity and access management
+ Backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity
+ Modern collaboration platforms (M365, Teams)
+ Familiarity with ITSM, DevOps, automation, and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
+ Strong understanding of high-availability and resilient architecture design patterns.
+ Agile delivery experience.

**Preferred Certifications**
+ TOGAF (or equivalent EA certification)
+ Cloud certifications (Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect)
+ ITIL
+ CISSP (preferred but not required)
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
+ 7 Years of Experience
