**Job Description** Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for a Chief Advanced Practice Provider WORK SCHEDULE 100% FTE Days Onsite DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Harborview Medical Center employs a wide range of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), including Nurse Practitioners (NPs), Physician Assistants (PAs), and Perfusionists, who play a vital role in patient care alongside physicians. These APPs have advanced education and clinical training, enabling them to provide a broad spectrum of services, from acute care to preventative healthcare. POSITION HIGHLIGHTS The Chief Advanced Practice Provider (Chief APP) at Harborview Medical Center is a clinical, strategic and operational leader responsible for the direction, oversight, and advancement of nurse practitioners (NPs), physician assistants (PAs), and other advanced practice providers (APPs) across all clinical settings This role provides high-level leadership that ensures APP practice is safe, effective, efficient, and aligned with Harborview’s mission of serving the most vulnerable with compassion and excellence PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The Chief APP will manage over 200 FTEs across many different budgets and supervise APPs on both inpatient medical services (acute and critical care) as well as in the ambulatory setting The Chief APP will interface with students from multiple programs across the state and nationally Serve as the senior leader and advocate for APPs across Harborview, ensuring alignment of APP practice with the mission, vision, and strategic goals of the organization Lead workforce strategy and management for APPs across all service lines and settings Work clinically in their area of specialty (8 to 12 hours per week) Supervise and mentor APP directors and managers, providing clear expectations, performance feedback, and leadership development Collaborate with finance and service line leaders to optimize APP staffing models, productivity, and return on investment REQUIREMENTS Masters or Doctoral degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution 7–10 years of clinical experience as an NP or PA, with at least 5 years in progressive leadership roles If a Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), Master's Degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice If a Physician Assistant (PA), Masters Degree, if not a masters prepared PA, then must have Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and at least 5 years experience ABOUT HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER As the region's only Level I Trauma and verified burn center, Harborview Medical Center is a comprehensive healthcare facility owned by King County and operated by UW Medicine.
