Key Responsibilities: 

Financial Leadership & Team Management 

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of accountants, ensuring high performance, accuracy, and continuous professional development.  Maintain clear roles, workflows, and KPIs for the finance team; monitor productivity and quality of outputs.  Act as the primary point of contact for all accounting operations and financial reporting. 

 

Financial Reporting & Closing 

Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes, ensuring compliance with IFRS and internal policies.  Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and provisions with analytical justification.  Prepare and present accurate financial statements, balance sheets, P&L, and management reports with detailed commentary on performance vs. budget. 

 

Costing & Landed Cost Management 

Implement and manage precise landed cost calculations by allocating freight, customs, insurance, and other import-related costs to inventory.  Ensure accurate cost of goods sold (COGS) valuation and its reflection in financial statements.  Drive improvements in inventory costing processes and contribute to strategic pricing decisions. 

 

Cash Flow & Treasury Oversight 

Monitor short- and long-term cash flow forecasts; plan and prioritize cash and cheque disbursements.  Manage payment cycles, bank reconciliations, and supplier settlements in coordination with procurement and operations. 

 

Compliance, Audit & Tax 

Liaise with tax advisors for timely and accurate preparation of sales tax filings and other statutory requirements.  Coordinate year-end audits with internal and external auditors; prepare audit schedules, justifications, and lead closing meetings.  Strengthen internal controls, ensure proper segregation of duties, and recommend enhancements to the financial control environment. 

 

Business Partnership & Analysis 

Support senior management with financial insights, variance analysis, cost-efficiency recommendations/brand and channels/ region profitability.  Participate in budgeting and forecasting cycles; monitor actuals against forecasts and investigate deviations.  Collaborate with operations, logistics, and procurement to align finance with broader supply chain and business strategies. 

 

Process Improvement & System Optimization 

Continuously evaluate accounting processes and systems to identify opportunities for automation, accuracy, and scalability.  Lead or support ERP implementation and upgrades as needed to enhance financial data flow and reporting capabilities. 

 

Confidentiality & Professional Development 

Uphold high standards of integrity and confidentiality in handling financial and business information.  Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local regulations, IFRS standards, and industry best practices through training and professional networks. 

 

Qualifications: 

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's preferred).  Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leading role. Experience in the FMCG sector, with deep exposure to landed cost accounting and inventory management.  Strong expertise in financial reporting, internal controls, and audit readiness.  Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting/ERP systems (SAP).  Professional certifications such as CMA are highly desirable.  Demonstrated ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.  Strong leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills.
