About the Role
The Chief Accountant is responsible for end-to-end IFRS and statutory reporting for the assigned country or legal entity. The role ensures timely execution of accounting activities in accordance with group-wide principles and standards. It includes documenting and reviewing financial statements to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and contributes to the implementation of standardized processes and the Finance Target Operating Model.
This position works closely with the Global Business Services (GBS) team and receives guidance from the Manager Accounting & Tax Compliance EMEA on complex activities and ad hoc requests.
Scope
This role covers the beverage site in Kågeröd, Sweden.
Key Responsibilities
+ Coordinate monthly, half-year, and year-end closings, including BOF reporting
+ Perform balance sheet reviews and statutory accounting
+ Oversee tax and pension accounting (IFRS 19), and manage technical accounting topics
+ Ensure governance of internal control systems (ICS)
+ Collaborate with GBS on payroll and inventory accounting
+ Provide guidance to GBS and other finance teams (Consolidation, Tax, Treasury, GAR)
+ Govern the quality, consistency, and integrity of financials
+ Share accounting expertise across EMEA
+ Manage service level agreements with Shared Services
+ Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes
+ Support finance-related projects
+ Maintain relationships with external stakeholders and the finance community
About You
You are a finance professional with strong technical expertise and a collaborative mindset. You thrive in a dynamic environment and are committed to delivering high-quality results.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
+ Business proficiency in English (written and spoken)
+ Proficiency in SAP or other ERP systems
+ ACCA DipIFR or ACCA/CPA membership is a plus
+ Strong knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP (Sweden and Denmark)
Experience
+ Extensive experience in finance with a focus on accounting
+ Experience in a multinational company, preferably in B2B or food industries
+ Solid understanding of accounting, controlling, and financial reporting methodologies
