Job Description

This position is within the Analytical Chemistry Lab. As an Technologist, you will receive on-the-job training for the pre-analytical and post-analytical setup and testing. The lab handles both high and moderate complexity testing using immunoassay methodologies and some assays requiring an extraction procedure before analysis.

ResponsibilitiesReceive and evaluate specimens for testing; determine priority of work to maintain acceptable turnaround time.Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOP) while performing extractions and analysis on client, quality control, and proficiency samples.Prepare laboratory reagents and standard solutions according to SOP.Evaluate raw and final data for accuracy; recognize and correct errors and unusual results; interpret results to produce a final report.Maintain, calibrate, and clean instrumentation; perform routine maintenance and critical function checks.Follow quality control rules; monitor controls for error detection and take corrective action; maintain laboratory records and logs.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in a science-related field (biology, chemistry, biochemistry, medical technology, clinical laboratory science, etc.)Close attention to detail, verified by references.Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all work.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience in a repetitive or high-volume role (e.g., serving, food industry).Experience with laboratory procedures, sample preparation, and specimen processing.Knowledge in forensic science, mass spectrometry, chemistry, bench chemistry, biology, or related.Work Environment

Working hours from Tuesday to Saturday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. The worksite is located in Minneapolis/St Paul, MN. The dress code requires long pants and closed-toe shoes. Employees are offered opportunities for career growth and training on analytical chemistry equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.10 - $23.10/hr.
