Job Description Insight Global is looking for a Chemist to work on site in Austin, TX and support the strategy and introduction of products based on unique and highly differentiated capabilities of a preeminent foundry for semiconductor systems and defense electronics companies. Their mission is to advance the state-of-the-art in critical semiconductor domains such as advanced packaging, and in the process to help restore U.S. leadership in semiconductor manufacturing. They are developing cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing technology that will define future roadmaps of semiconductor devices including logic, memory, 3D packaged devices, including thermal management, etc. Perform detailed chemical analysis of semiconductor packages, components, and raw materials to support failure analysis and quality control. Operate and maintain a variety of analytical instruments, including Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS), Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), and Vapor Phase Decomposition (VPD). Develop and validate new analytical methods and procedures as needed. Collaborate closely with other failure analysis teams (e.g., SEM, TEM, XPS, ToF-SIMS, TXRF etc.) to provide comprehensive root cause analysis. Support a fast-paced startup environment by providing rapid and accurate analytical support. Document all analysis procedures, data, and findings in clear, concise reports. Skills and Requirements A Ph.D. or master’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, or a closely related field. Hands-on experience with analytical techniques, specifically GC-MS, ICP-MS, and VPD. Demonstrated experience in method development and optimization on various analytical instrumentation such as mass spectrometry, ICP-OES, LC or IC, including tool qual and troubleshooting. A background in testing and analyzing liquid chemicals, including those used in etching, chemical baths, and electroplating processes. Experience with an electronic laboratory information management system. A minimum of 2 years of experience in high precision, trace and/or ultra trace analysis by mass spectrometry. Experience in the semiconductor industry, particularly with semiconductor packaging and failure analysis. A background in UV-Vis, Raman, FTIR, titration, Liquid Chromatography (LC), and Ion Chromatography (IC). Familiarity with additional analytical techniques such as XPS, TOF-SIMS, TXRF etc.
