The Chemical Technician II is responsible for producing high quality materials vital to oligonucleotide manufacturing, used at every IDT site worldwide.

This position reports to the Solid Support Manufacturing Supervisor and is part of the Solid Support Manufacturing department located in Coralville, Iowa and will be an on-site role.

Schedule: Weekend Days, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 6am - 6:30pm.

The work schedule may be subject to change based on business need, with sufficient notice.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Produce high quality chemical products that are used in DNA/RNA synthesis in a timely manner according to production schedulesEnsure products meet end-user specifications through in-process testing, as well as troubleshoot and correct non-conforming productsParticipate on the Hazardous Material Spill Response Team

The essential requirements of the job include

Associate's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or related field and 2+ years of applicable experience in a science related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.Proficiency in a variety of PC software programs with strong working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeAbility to meet all required IDT certifications required for the role, such as HAZWOPER 24hr-Technician Certification (requiring Medically fit to participate in IDT’s Respirator Program), RCRA awareness certification, certified Powered Industrial Truck Operator

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

Ability to occasionally lift, move, or carry up to 50lbs.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or related fieldSafely working with hazardous chemicals and making sound decisions without direct supervisor inputWorking with basic chemistry and mathematics, including unit conversions necessary to perform in-process adjustments

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
