Chemical Process Intern - Summer 2026
Jacobs is seeking a Chemical / Process Engineering Intern to join our Advanced Facilities - Adv. Manufacturing team in either Greenville, SC or Appleton, WI, working on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients’ challenges. This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our team and be involved in a variety of engineering tasks for our clients; such as working on state-of-the-art projects, implementing, modifying and maintaining process designs, while assisting with the development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications. In this position you’ll be surrounded by expert mentorship by professional engineers, architects, and other senior technical staff as you expand your technical engineering and professional skills. Under the guidance of your team, you will develop flow diagrams, perform sizing calculations for pipe and equipment, and develop process specifications. You will build technical skills by utilizing software such as PipeFlo, AFT Fathom, Bluebeam, and SmartPlant. Your ability to communicate, manage your time and responsibilities effectively, and maintain a high standard work product will be instrumental in delivering successful project outcomes. Working together, we’ll help you grow and pursue what fulfills you so that we can make impacts on the future - big and small, global and local. * Enrolled in a degree-seeking program in Chemical Engineering * Completed coursework in fluid dynamics and thermodynamics * Familiarity with Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Ideally, you will also have * Basic knowledge of ASPEN, PipeFlo(Professional and Compressible), AFT Fathom, HTRI, WinGems, and SmartPlant * Experience with process engineering and design activities * Basic understanding of process design principles and standards * Ability to work in the US without visa sponsorship, now or in the future Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
