Responsibilities:
Manually measure, weigh, and mix raw chemical ingredients according to specified formulations.
Safely handle and transfer chemicals, including corrosive and volatile substances like HCl and formaldehyde.
Operate blending tanks, pumps, agitators, and other manual and semi-automated mixing equipment.
Maintain accurate batch records and inventory tracking of raw materials and finished products.
Follow detailed work instructions and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
Perform quality checks to ensure consistency and conformity to batch specifications.
Use PPE (personal protective equipment) at all times and uphold site safety protocols.
Clean and sanitize equipment and blending areas per company guidelines.
Communicate with supervisors and quality control staff regarding batch issues or inconsistencies.
Working hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Skills:
Bilingual Spanish/English
Experience working with strong acids, bases, and volatile organic compounds.
Knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations and hazardous material storage protocols.
Basic math and measurement skills.
Mechanical aptitude for basic equipment troubleshooting.
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in chemical blending or a similar industrial environment.
Familiarity with hazardous chemical handling and industrial safety standards.
Ability to read and understand chemical labels, batch sheets, and safety documentation.
Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and working in hot or cold environments.
Willingness to wear full PPE, including chemical-resistant gloves, goggles, and respirators when needed.
Forklift experience is a plus.
