Chef de Partie - DoubleTree by Hilton Sharjah

A Chef de Partie is responsible for supervising team members and ensuring high levels of food preparation to deliver an excellent Guest experience while assisting with food cost controls. A Chef de Partie will also be required to lead and motivate a team, maintain high standards of hygiene, and contribute to menu development.

What will I be doing?

As a Chef de Partie, you will supervise team members and ensure high levels of food preparation to deliver an excellent Guest experience. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Ensure all food preparation and presentation meets Hilton quality standards

Prepare and present high-quality food for buffet and à la carte service

Supervise, lead, and motivate a team of various skill levels

Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming in line with Hilton standards

Work in a clean, organised manner, strictly following HACCP regulations 

Prepare all mise-en-place for all relevant menus

Suggest and contribute to the creation of new menus for both buffet and à la carte offerings

Assist in positive outcomes from guest queries in a timely and efficient manner

Ensure food items are of good quality and stored correctly

Contribute to controlling costs, improving gross profit margins, and achieving departmental and financial targets

Assist Executive Chef or Sous Chef in the training, coaching, and development of all team members in compliance with company procedures

Be a role model for team members, demonstrating Hilton values and a positive “can-do” attitude

Report maintenance, hygiene, and hazard issues promptly

Comply with hotel security, fire regulations, and all health, safety, and food safety legislation

Be environmentally aware and support sustainability initiatives

Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships

Strong coaching and training skills, with the ability to prepare training plans for your sectionAbility and desire to motivate teamsExcellent communication skillsAchieved Basic Food Hygiene CertificateAbility to work on own initiative or as part of a teamMust have full knowledge of HACCP and food hygiene practicesMust be able to follow and set standards in the kitchen department at all timesGood knowledge of classical cooking techniques and modern culinary trends

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

Previous kitchen experience in a similar role, ideally within a hotelFood Hygiene CertificateKnowledge of current food trends and innovative culinary practices
